Integrity and Owning Your Experiences

Integrity goes beyond just doing the right thing; it’s about achieving energetic wholeness – being fully present and responsive to life’s challenges. This state of being allows for a vibrant and fully alive existence, where you can engage dynamically with whatever comes your way.
The Hendricks Institute identifies four pillars that support integrity:
- Healthy Responsibility
- Emotional Literacy – feeling your feelings.
- Conscious Communication – authentic expression and listening.
- Impeccable Agreements – these pillars help maintain a state of integrity by ensuring you are fully engaged and honest in your interactions.
Integrity can be compromised by the four “uns”:
- Unowneds (not taking responsibility)
- Unfelts (ignoring emotions)
- Unsaids (leaving thoughts unexpressed)
- Unkepts (breaking commitments)
Unowneds, in particular, occur when you blame external factors for your experiences, preventing personal ownership and leading to blame, creativity misuse, self-protection, and disempowerment.
To shift from blaming to owning your experiences, assess your life for areas of blame and criticism. Ask yourself how you are creating your experience, what beliefs shape it, what actions sustain it, and what you truly want to create. By exploring these questions, you invite more energy and creativity into your life, embracing the true essence of integrity.
